About this article
Last night, under the radiant full moon, something sacred stirred in the silence. We came together in circle — not just to celebrate, but to remember. To remember the ancient wisdom that pulses in our bones, and to reclaim the deepest, most unshakable teacher of all: the Antar Guru, the inner guru.
In a world that pulls us outward — to courses, titles, teachings, and approvals — we so often forget. We forget that the truest guide, the one who never abandons us, has always been within. The Antar Guru is not a voice in your head. It is the flame behind the voice — your inner compass, your fire, your silence. It knows long before your mind catches up. It never doubts, never flinches, and it cannot be bought, broken, or bypassed.
The Essence of the Guru
We began our circle with the ancient Guru Mantra: Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara, Guru Sakshat Param Brahma...
This is not mere praise. It is a cosmic declaration — that the guru is the force that creates (Brahma), sustains (Vishnu), and liberates (Shiva). But more than that, it is the embodiment of truth itself — Param Brahma — beyond all form, beyond all ego.
To chant this mantra is to ignite remembrance:
You are not separate. You are that truth.
Under this full moon, with its veil thinner than usual, the mantra became a bridge — between seeker and self, between sound and silence, between devotion and realization.
Practices to Awaken the Inner Teacher
Here are some of the practices we shared — not just techniques, but portals to the part of you that already knows:
✨ Stillness & Silence
The first step is simple, but fierce: stop running. Sit. Breathe. Be still. No music. No mantras. Just presence. Stillness settles the storm. In that quiet, you will hear the truth.
🌬 Breathwork
- Natural Breath Awareness: Begin with awareness at the nostrils. Let the breath be your anchor.
- Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing): Balances brain hemispheres and moves you into parasympathetic flow.
- Bhramari (Humming Breath): With ears closed and hum vibrating in the skull, this breath stimulates the pineal and pituitary glands — the seat of subtle wisdom. It’s nature’s antidepressant.
- Cosmic Breath: Inhale with open heart, exhale with forceful release. A circular breath that purifies and energizes.
- Breath Retention + Mula Bandha: Draw energy up from the root while focusing at the third eye — awakening subtle currents.
Mantra, Mudra, and Movement
- Gan Mudra Kriya: Connecting index finger and thumb while chanting rhythmically: Omnimo Omnimo Omnimo Guru Omnimo A vibration that calls the guru within to rise.
Visualization & Inquiry
- Spinal Current: Visualize a silver thread rising on inhale, cascading down like moonlight on exhale — releasing illusion.
- Agya Chakra Activation: Feel the third eye glow, radiating clarity through your being.
- Silent Questions: In stillness, ask: What would you have me remember? What would you have me release? What would you have me become?
Reclaiming the Sovereign Self
The greatest takeaway from this sacred circle? Stop outsourcing your power. Stop doubting your light.
The Antar Guru will not coddle you. It won’t whisper sweet nothings to your ego. It will burn through illusion and turn you back — again and again — to your own knowing.
This wild truth lives inside you. You were never lost. Only listening to the wrong voice.
As we closed the circle, I reminded us all: You are not alone. The guru lives in you. It always has. It always will.
On this Guru Purnima, we didn’t just bow to the masters. We became the flame they’ve always pointed to.
