About this article
Hello everyone, it's Maxi here! I just returned from the Yoga Unyted Festival in Germany — and wow, what a journey. This was my second of five festivals lined up for the year, and each one feels like stepping into another world. A world where transformation is real, and yoga isn’t just something you do — it’s something you live.
The heart of this festival beats with a simple, profound dream:
Yoga Unyted is a gift and a dream of a better world.
For us, everything is yoga — not just postures on a mat, but a way of being. A philosophy rooted in love, movement, community, and nature. We believe that when we transform ourselves from within, we become kinder, more compassionate humans — and that’s how real change begins in society.
Set in the peaceful village of Neuhausen/Spree in Brandenburg, Spree Camp Bagenz is truly magical. Tucked away beside the Spremberg dam lake, the setting feels like a hidden retreat — just 90 minutes from Berlin but worlds away from urban chaos.
Surrounded by lush forest and a clean reservoir lake, we camp in a nature reserve with direct access to a soft, sandy beach. The sunsets? Absolutely unreal. It feels like the land itself is part of the yoga — calming, nourishing, and alive.
Spree Camp offers something for everyone: van spots, tents, cozy huts, and bungalows — it quickly becomes a small spiritual village filled with shared meals, firelight, and laughter.
A Festival Overflowing with Life
Yoga Unyted is four full days of music, movement, healing, and heart. It’s more than a festival — it’s an ecosystem. Activities take place across multiple “floors,” each with its own vibe:

- Yoga Floor
- Leaders & Lovers
The timetable is packed, and whether you're new to yoga or a seasoned seeker, there’s something for everyone:

- Concerts
- Ecstatic Dance
- Creative Workshops
- Kundalini Yoga
- Chakra Dance
- Cacao Ceremonies
- Gong Baths & Sound Healing
- Pranayama & Kirtan
- Qigong & AcroYoga
- Human Design Readings (that’s me!)
My Mission: Bringing the Soul Back to Yoga
When I moved to Germany from India in 2020, I noticed something: yoga here was often about the physical — focused on mat work, fitness, and form.
So I made it my mission to reintroduce the soul of yoga — to remind people of its deeper roots.
In my Yoga Therapy workshops, I explore the five koshas (layers of the self), and I insist on calling "pranayama" by its true name — not just "breath work," but a powerful tool from a sacred tradition.
Another favorite is my "Myth of the Asanas" workshop. We move through poses like Warrior, then I tell the story behind the posture. When we return to the pose, something shifts. People feel it differently — as if they’re embodying a living myth, not just doing exercise. That’s the magic of yoga with context.
A Diverse and Loving Community
Last time, we had around 2,500 attendees! The community is beautifully mixed — from free-spirited 20-somethings to wise elders in their 60s and 70s. There’s even a full kids program with a huge adventure playground.
We did hear some feedback that teens want more of their own space — and I think that’s something we’ll see evolve next year.
From Arrival to Transformation
One of my jobs at the festival is checking people in and out, so I witness the entire arc of their journey.
Many arrive stressed — tired from city life or annoyed by traffic and parking. But by the time they leave? ✨ They’re glowing. Open-hearted. Transformed. ✨
It’s the most rewarding thing to see — and it reminds me why I do this.
Between my workshops, I also offer Human Design readings, which often spark deep realizations in people. The connections are beautiful and non-stop — you can’t walk five meters without hugging someone or sharing a story!

Final Words
Every time I return from Yoga Unyted, I feel recharged. I feel community. I feel the realness of yoga — the kind that lives in breath, in stories, in sound, in stillness.
If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend joining us. Come as you are — and maybe, just maybe, you’ll leave with a little more of who you really are.
With love, Maxi
