The Ashram at the Sea
Amritapuri is the global headquarters of Mata Amritanandamayi — known worldwide as Amma, the hugging saint. The ashram sits on a narrow strip of land between the Arabian Sea and Kerala backwaters in Kollam district, and draws visitors from over a hundred countries. It is one of the most internationally welcoming ashram communities in India, combining intensive spiritual practice with Amma's tradition of selfless service.
