Any recommendations for good spiritual books? FYI - I haven't read books in a long time and looking to make a start now.

Where am I?

I have read a few books that talk extensively about Indian spirituality. Here are my top two picks:

  1. Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master: A Yogi's Autobiography by Sri M,
  2. Adiyogi: The Source of Yoga by Sadhguru.

Other than this recently, I happened to read this novel - The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and absolutely loved it. Happy reading @Arun Kumar

Something that should start getting you into the world of spirituality is "Autobiography of a Yogi". This would be a great start to your spiritual mission.

Apart from this, also do read "Who am I" by Ramana Maharishi, it will open up your perspective quite a bit.

Dont start with just books, i would suggest - also start listening to discourses by marquee saints or start seeing biographies/documentaries about saints that you love. This will greatly elevate your spiritual seeking.

Most of the books by Jayadev and Moses are gold. Do check out Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy by Sadhguru  and Freedom from the Known Book by Jiddu Krishnamurti. They might be contradicting in, direct comparisons but both are masters in their own way and great guides. Keep flowing @Arun Kumar 🙏🙏

Be Here Now by Ram Dass

This book has a unique presentation of insight that is both visually and spiritually appealing. It is a beautiful combination of illustration and wisdom that constantly reminds me not just to be in the present moment, but of the uniqueness and joy, that exists within it.

One of may favourite starting books is THE LIFE-CHANGING MAGIC OF TIDYING UP BY MARIE KONDO.

She used to be a Shinto Shrine Maiden and you can feel that in her book. Gratitude, Treating everything as holy, and just embracing a bit of minimalism helped me a lot.
